About this site
marokkanisch.com
A reference work on what is Moroccan: what people cook, wear, play, celebrate and say.
I am Hassan; I grew up in Dortmund, and my family comes from Nador. On meinmarokko.com I present the places of Morocco; here you find the things that belong to Morocco, and its first names.
The site describes 46 things in 7 kinds, from food and drink, objects, crafts, clothing and music to customs and words, plus 184 first names. Each thing answers the same questions: what it is, where it comes from, what it is made of, when you come across it and how to recognise it, as far as this can be documented.
Every statement carries its source as a footnote: the number after it opens the source, with the date it was checked. Where there is a primary source, an authority, UNESCO, an official gazette or a scholarly publication, it comes before the reference work. What cannot be documented is not here. The site describes; it does not judge.
